Privacy notice

This describes what personal information this website collects, why, how long it is kept, and what you can ask us to do with it. It reflects how the system actually works, not a general template.

What we collect, and when

If you send us a message through the contact form, we collect the name, email address, phone number if you give one, the reason you selected, and what you wrote.

If you request a consultation, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give one, the reason you selected, and the date, time, and time zone you asked for.

If you use the chat, we collect the messages you send. You do not have to give a name or an email address to start a conversation. If you do give them, we keep them with that conversation so a consultant can reply to you by email as well.

We do not store your IP address. We store a salted one-way hash of it, which lets us detect abuse patterns without keeping the address itself.

We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell or share your information with anyone for marketing.

Why we collect it

To answer the question you asked, to arrange and hold a consultation you requested, and to keep a record of that so a consultant can pick up where the last one left off.

We also keep a record of actions our own staff take on your records, so that if something goes wrong we can see what happened and who did it.

How long we keep it

Contact messages and chat transcripts are anonymised 24 months after they were last active. Your name, email address, phone number, and the content of what you wrote are removed. A record that the contact happened is kept, without anything identifying you, so we can still count how many people we helped.

24 months was chosen because moving from an application to arriving in Lithuania genuinely takes more than a year, and coming back to us a year later should not mean starting again from nothing.

This happens automatically. It is not something anyone has to remember to do.

Who can see it

Our consultants, through an admin console that requires a sign-in and records what they do.

Our email provider, in order to deliver an email to you or to alert a consultant that you are waiting.

Our hosting provider, as a necessary part of running the service.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it. You can ask for a copy in a portable form.

You do not have to give a reason, and asking will not affect how we treat your case.

Security

Connections to this site are encrypted. Passwords for staff accounts are stored hashed, never in a readable form. Access to your records requires a sign-in that expires and can be revoked.

No system is perfect. If something does go wrong in a way that affects you, we will tell you.
